Every week, Katie will blog about the extraordinary secret her boss has shared with her.
TRUE LOVE VERSES FANTASY
The ultimate battle. How do you know when something is not real? The tricky thing about love is that it is dominated by emotions with very few facts to support the theory. There's no equation that gives you results to the perfect match and although we can perform experiments to tell us what doesn't work, there's no set pattern of ingredients to the perfect potion. It's all trial and error.
To uplift myself this week I decided to make a list of those who did do it right.
Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy
So, I know everyone's all team Mary Jane ever since Kirsten Dunst gave her life but I remember Peter Parker's first love. He met the super popular, beautiful co-ed, Gwen Stacy at Empire State University.
Han Solo and Princess Leia
What's the greatest love line in a movie, ever? Princess Leia: I love you. Han: I know.
So Han Solo only agrees to fly Obi and Luke for the cash. He never intends to fall in love and fights it until he simply can't anymore. He dies for her! That's true love.
Clark Kent and Lois Lane
Hello! Perfection. He loved her since her Lana days. He didn't have the courage to ask her out as boring Clark Kent so his emotions fester for years, building and maturing until one day they became the perfect union. Someone should tell DC comics fans are still waiting for that super baby.
Ralph Dibny (The Elongated Man) and Sue
Not going to lie, I cried when Sue died in "Identity Crisis." The Justice League hero brought his wife along to solve crimes and bring laughs. They might have been the happiest marriage in comic book history.
Buffy and Angel
Best. First. Love. Ever. A vampire with a soul falls for the local slayer only to lose his soul when enjoying a moment of pure bliss with her?! Amazingness. Although Angel terrorizes Buffy she still loves him deep down inside. They battle their emotions for years until finally Angel leaves hoping that she'll be happier without him. While Buffy and Angel move on and find other loves their hearts always hold a place for each other.
