Character Biography

JOAB is David’s cousin and fiercely loyal friend. Even as David’s father and brothers have regarded him with contempt and rejection, Joab has stood by him. Faithful companionship is not the only thing Joab offers. He’s also sarcastic, wry, and relentlessly realistic, often providing David with the counter-arguments he may need to survive. Joab isn’t one to shy away from danger, but as David’s fate becomes more complicated, he must decide how willing he is to put his life on line.

Actor Biography

David Walmsley is a multi-talented performer with credits ranging across film, television and theater.

Hailing from England, Walmsley most notably starred in the BAFTA-winning “In the Flesh,” which was honored as the “Best Television Mini Series” in 2014. His other television credits include “Banished,” “The Smoke” and “Crimson Fields”.

On stage, Walmsley has been seen in the Royal National Theater’s production of “War Horse” and The Almeida’s recent production of “Our Town.” Walmsley will next be seen in the feature film “Ben-Hur,” alongside Jack Huston and Morgan Freeman.
