The sorcerer Jafar has somehow traveled to Wonderland from the mysterious and magical land of Agrabah on a quest. He has collected two genies through nefarious means and now plans to acquire a third—Cyrus—along with his three wishes, in order to cast a powerful spell. Jafar is willing to do anything and hurt anyone in order to achieve his goals, seemingly feeling neither pity nor remorse. While in Wonderland he has struck a bargain with The Red Queen, but he may prove to be as treacherous an ally as he is an enemy.
Naveen Andrews is best known for his role in J.J. Abrams' award-winning hit series, Lost, a performance that earned him Best Supporting Actor nominations at the 2005 Emmy Awards and the 2006 Golden Globe Awards. Other TV credits include The Buddha of Suburbia, directed by Roger Michell for the BBC. His most recent film credits include Joel Silver's The Brave One, with Jodie Foster and directed by Neil Jordan, and Grindhouse for director Robert Rodriguez.
In 1996 Andrews starred in the critically acclaimed film The English Patient, with Ralph Fiennes, Kristin Scott Thomas and Juliette Binoche for writer/director Antony Minghella. He will next be seen in Diana, opposite Naomi Watts.
Andrews began his career in London, where he studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
