Addison sends Naomi off on her first date since college. The next day at Oceanside, Naomi is depressed that her date was a tragic disaster since the only topics of conversation she could come up with were about sperm, eggs and uteruses. Hey, it’s better than talking politics!
Dr. Charlotte King barges in to the office demanding to see Sam. She's suffering from a bad case of insomnia. Sam suggests she see Pete, whose holistic medicine might help. It doesn’t. Violet doesn't have any luck with Charlotte, either. The ice queen doesn't want to open up in therapy, but does reveal that while she's sexually active, guys usually bolt right after doing the deed. With her tough exterior, it's not hard for us to see why she hasn't had a real intimate relationship in years.
So, it's back to Pete, who does his best to be nice to Charlotte despite her abrasiveness. He rubs a concoction on her temple, trying to be encouraging. But Charlotte is uncomfortable and confesses that she comes from a family that doesn’t know how to show affection. Pete continues to soothe her and, like magic, she finally falls asleep. Charlotte actually sleeps through the whole night at Oceanside. Sometimes when you’re cranky, all you really need is a nap.
