It’s the morning after. The Oceanside doctors slink into the office like guilty children. Pete stood up Addison. Cooper saw Violet naked and ran. Sam and Naomi got it on. What happens now? We’re about to find out.
Charlotte King comes over to train the docs in the new Safe Surrender program, which gives new mothers the option of giving up their baby anonymously and safely. But if the mother changes her mind, she has two weeks to reclaim her newborn.
After last night’s diss, Addison tells Pete that he's officially been downgraded to "acquaintance." In the spirit of moving on, Addison gets chummy with a good-looking guy, Carl, while waiting for coffee. What she doesn’t know is that Carl is one of Violet’s patients. Addison’s date with Carl is interrupted by a Safe Surrender hotline call. And who do you think answers the call with her? Give yourself a gold star if you said Pete.
Addison and Pete arrive at the home of Darcy, a teenage girl who has given birth without her mom’s knowledge. Darcy hurriedly hands off her baby daughter and shoos the docs away, lest her mom find out. Back at Oceanside, Addison totally bonds with the baby girl. Even going back to her Grey’s Anatomy days, we’ve always suspected that Addison would make a great mom. Now we’re sure about it.
[break]Cooper is all set to get over Violet by making an Internet "date" with someone who goes by the screen name CanUHandleMe441. As it turns out, CanUHandleMe441 is a gussied up Charlotte King! Cooper's first instinct is to bolt, but instead he sits. So what if she's a little harsh, she is kind of hot, right? But when Charlotte learns Cooper's her date, she’s the one who bails. Anybody else wondering what the 441 stands for in her call sign?
Sam and Naomi get an emergency call from Father Mark, the priest who married them. A nun at his church has a nasty rash on her belly and is exhibiting flu-like symptoms. Naomi takes a picture of the rash on her cell phone and emails it to Dell so he can have an infectious disease specialist identify it. As more nuns in the convent fall ill, Sam quarantines the area into a hot zone. They get their answer to the mystery rash: Typhoid. Father Mark has been unconsciously carrying the disease from his time as a missionary worker.
Sam and Naomi agree that their little transgression the night before was just a "slip-up." But we see how these two look at each other, and how the act toward each other. We’re hoping they’ll find their way back to each other. And judging by how they end up in bed together again, we’re psyched it may be sooner rather than later.
[break]Carl drops off some flowers for Addison. Pete and Cooper grill Violet about why she’s treating Carl. The only thing she reveals is that he's nicknamed himself "Trunk." What could that possibly... Wait, Violet is called to the ER where Carl is being treated for putting Addison's shoe up his… OK, we’re not gonna say it. Just remember, his nickname is “Trunk.” Gross! We’re thinking no more dates for Addison and this guy.
Addison spent the entire night with the baby girl. Dell has called social services to pick her up, but Darcy and her mom arrive at Oceanside first, desperate to get the baby back. Charlotte, Addison, Cooper and Pete all gather to reunite the newborn with her mother and grandmother. It’s a bittersweet ending.
As Charlotte prepares to leave, Cooper makes a bold move. He asks Charlotte to get a drink with him, except, they skip the drink. They head right to her place and get down to a night of hot, sweaty lovemaking. This could be the start of something interesting. You agree?
