PRIVATE PRACTICE - "Slip Slidin' Away" - The doctors venture into controversial territory when an unexpected new hire at Pacific Wellcare causes Naomi to struggle with the idea of genetically designing babies and Violet makes a sudden decision to try electric shock therapy on a patient. Meanwhile Addison somehow finds herself alone and with a cat, on "Private Practice," THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 5 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/DANNY FELD)GEORGE NEWBERN, KATE WALSH

Addison’s patient, Lily, has Stage 4 ovarian cancer and needs to be admitted to the hospital. But she’s not going anywhere until someone she trusts agrees to watch Milo, her cat. This just in: Addison Montgomery has just been cast as the new Catwoman!

Addison gets into caring for the cat. She even buys Milo a new travel carrier. While on the way to visit Lily, she runs into her cute oncologist, Dr. Brian Reynolds (guest star George Newbern). He asks her out and she accepts. The pleasant moment doesn’t last long as they reach Lily’s room to discover she’s passed away. Addison thinks she may end up like Lily, dying alone in a tiny room without friends. When Lily’s cousin shows up at Addison’s office, she offers to take Milo off her hands. That’s not going to happen.

PRIVATE PRACTICE -

Cat Lady?

Addison's got a new feline in her life. Do you think a cat's best for her, or would a dog be a better companion?

I love the character Charlotte on here. Keep her. The show isn't about trying to TURN YOU ON.

Cats are easier to take care of for a busy professional. Both cats and dogs are awesome, but Addison seems like a cat person to me.

I love greys, and then private practice, but, I CANT stand this southern twang of the woman doctor, i dont watch enough to know her name but when she talks I get so turned off I turn it off, it really makes her look like a hillbilly, please either take her off she just doesnt fit in with that accent. everyone else sounds so professional and she sounds so hill billy.please, greys is so good and this is such a good follow up show but shes terrible with that accent.WHY would you put that in such a good show it just doesnt fit

Being a southerner, I find your statement a bit offensive. Not all southerners are idiots. I have an advanced degree, as do many of my friends and family members. Personally, I like Charlotte. Her character adds a needed shot of reality to the self-absorbed doctors. Maybe you need to talk to Sheldon or Violet about your hangup.

Cats are better, obviously. They are cuter, less slobbery and easier to take care of.

Dog is a better companion...but beyond that...I LOVE THIS SHOW!! I really enjoy the quirkiness of each of the characters and how they interact...I hope the show stays around...makes my Thursday night!!

Does anybody know the name of the song that played at the end of the episode tonight? "there's a cold wind blowing from the north, the emptiness has come back for more" were some of the lyrics.

the big middle - juliette commagere - I think. At least that's what I came up with after searching. Beautiful song, wasn't it.

I like her with Milo, I am curious to see her with a dog though...I think she could have both, and she needs a break from the men madness in her life...maybe she should also get a dog...yeah, I would love to see her with a dog! A Lab please! :)

The cat seems good they are easier Maintainance. A dog might be hard since she is working alot.

I personaly think dogs are better pets. Due to the fact that you can do more stuff with dog pets.

If Addison is not going to be in a relationship anytime soon than it would be nice to see her get with a dog as a companion. What happened with Sams dog ?In season one they showed him with a little dog living at his house and they even showed him walking the dog but i haven't seem him lately?

A cat is good for Addison. I am very proud of her for keeping it and facing her fears of becoming a cat lady.

Kate is the "star" of the show and this is the most exciting question that you can come up with for her. You guys better do some fast writting.

I for one am thrilled to see this storyline! You know this kitty is going to turn out to be a wonderful companion for Addison! Plus he will screem potential beaus to make sure they are worthy of her affections! A cat is a much better companion for someone as busy as Addison than a dog. I look forward to Milo as a regular on PURRivate PURRactice!

I think it's quite fitting. I mean cats have that sense of entitlement, they are a little snobby, but smart and quick... I think that fits Addison quite well. Me, I am not a cat person, but when one comes around I can't help but pet it. I kind of feel that way about Addison. She is a little.... spoiled... but I just can't help but love her! LOL

His name is Geoffrey ArendI I know him from the Ringer (when the eff did we get ice cream?!), but he's been on a few other things, check out http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0034309/ for the other things he's done. Who played Barbara? That is what is making me crazy!

I love all animals, but dogs are much better company than cats who really just want you for food.

not at all I think it's cute and might be really good for her. just b/c your a busy Dr and live in the city doesn't mean you can't have a pet. I think it shows just how sweet and caring she is to take that persons cat. I thought it was sad when she went in the room with the cat to show the lady, but she had already past away:(

Addison is defenately a cat person: A Cat looks after herself, doesn't obey, chooses eand decides and.. likes to play sometimes. you know....a dog has a boss...and cat's are having staff..............................

I like both animals but I think a cat is better for her, dog's require more time & attention.

yes....Milo is a wonderful cat. Addison does have commitment issues and having a cat will help her explore her issues.

Knowing Addison she get a dog too.... the world needs a 'Super Chihuahua' that Milo can kick around.....WOOT

crazychica802

Well since Addison is awkward around pets in general and does have a bad track record (see dead hermit crab for more info) it may be best if she has a cat. they are a lot less maintenance than a dog, which you have to take for walks etc.
