Barry Sloane was born and raised in Liverpool, England. He made his U.S. pilot season debut in 2012 landing the role of "Boyo" in the pilot "Gotham," for ABC and Twentieth Century Fox, directed by Francis Lawrence. This followed his first feature film, "Penthouse North," directed by Joseph Ruben, in which he played the leading role of Chad opposite Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan.
Sloane made his Broadway debut as Troy Whitworth in the Tony-nominated "Jerusalem" at the Music Box Theatre, a role that he created for the original award-winning production at The Royal Court Theatre, and reprised in London's West End at The Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. He made his West End debut in 2006 playing Sammy in "Blood Brothers."
Sloane has worked extensively on television in the UK, appearing as a regular character in such series as "Holby City," "Hollyoaks" and "Brookside," as well as guest lead appearances in "Father Brown," "DCI Banks," "Doctors," "The Bill," "Casualty," "The Courtroom," "I'm a Juvenile Delinquent - Jail Me," the BAFTA-nominated "Pleasureland" and "In His Life - The John Lennon Story." He can also be seen in the BAFTA Award-winning film "Mark of Cain."
