Behind the Scenes: Brotherhood

By Travis Milne and Adam Pettle Aug 18, 2011

It's time to go behind the scenes of Rookie Blue season two with exclusive commentary from the cast and creators of the show. This week, star Travis Milne (Chris Diaz) and writer Adam Pettle talk about what it was like learning to ride a horse for Episode 209, "Brotherhood."

Travis Milne: Officer Chris Diaz
We did some horse training about a month prior to the shoot. We would go in on our off days.
The horse that I had for the training session was a lot smaller than Metro and wasn't very aggressive. He would just stand there and didn't want to ride much, and I kept having to get him going. I tried a few yee haws, and that didn't work. Then I got on Metro and the second you gave his rib cage a little squeeze, he would take off and start going. Metro was so hard to get on because he's so big. And I'm 6'2", so it should be a cinch, but to get on him I had to literally reach up to almost where my head was and find something to pull myself up with. But this episode was a ton of fun to shoot. We were outside a lot.

Adam Pettle: Writer
It was so great to watch you guys ride.
