By Jim Donnelly Aug 26, 2014

Welcome to the Season 5 Wrap-Up Rookie Report. Here you’ll find the 12 most memorable moments from the final episodes of Season 5 of Rookie Blue, including the season finale. WARNING: There are spoilers here. Enjoy!

#12 Always On Your Side: Andy needs to have a heart-to-heart with Oliver. They are both feeling lousy about the situation with Duncan. Oliver lets Andy know that he’s on her side. Always has been. Always will be. Believe it or not, this difficult conversation is the best part of Oliver’s day. He thanks Andy for that.

#11 Oliver’s Existential Crisis: Jarvis believes the allocation of units to assist Steve Peck’s raid of an underground gambling ring is a waste of resources. Oliver is ordered to make use of the patrols in a middle class neighborhood with a low crime rate. Instead, he gives Steve the officers he needs for his raid. A pep talk from Sam helped him see the light.

#10 Home is Where You Hang Your Hat: Nick and Gail find a couple of teens, Josh and Brandi, in their apartment. They are the neighborhood bike thieves. Nick charges the kids for the bike thefts. It’s the only way he can assure that they won’t be split up into different group homes. He sets them up in a good place. He knows because he spent three years there.

#9 Dov Saves the Day: BANG! Dov and Chris find 17-year-old Seth with a gunshot wound to the head. The kid is alive. The bullet Seth fired earlier hit a gas line. Dov and Chris need to get the kid out of the house, but they are trapped in the locked studio room. One little spark could blow the house. Dov must take matters into his own hands when his partner goes down.

# 8 An Angry Citizen: The management at a subsidized housing complex needs police help moving residents out. Andy is wearing a body-mounted camera when an angry resident approaches to say that his bike has been stolen. The conversation becomes heated. Andy threatens to arrest the guy until he finally cools down. She has no idea that she’ll cross paths with this angry resident again in the near future.

#7 Back on the Job: Duncan Moore is in the house. Actually, he’s in the precinct. The guy’s officially back on duty. He asks to ride with Andy, but Nick volunteers to babysit the inept rookie instead. That doesn’t stop him from trying to get back into Andy’s good graces.

#6 The Ex Factor: Chloe has a birthday tradition of eating popcorn and watching The Breakfast Club. She keeps her birthday tradition alive after getting the gift of a DVD and popcorn from her ex, Wes. It’s gestures like this that may have led to an unexpected kiss.

#5 Sharing News: Gail is back together with Holly. She spills her plan to adopt a little girl. Gail is nervously excited. Then she’s stunned, as Holly also has news.

#4 Random Relationship News: Nick tracks down the bike woman at her favorite espresso shop. He can’t get her out of his head. Her name is Juliette, and she feels the same way, but makes a hasty exit when she hears he’s a cop. Traci is still on the outs with Steve, but has a new suitor in the form of a bomb squad tech. Finally, Dov finds a picture of an ultrasound. Someone around 15 is pregnant.

#3 Coming Clean: Duncan gets a phone tip on the case of a bomber. He takes off without telling anyone where he’s going. Andy and Nick see Duncan’s car outside the suspect’s house. They search the garage to find a Duncan cuffed inside a truck that’s wired to explode if he opens the door. Duncan talks to Andy over the radio. He apologizes for all his screw-ups.

#2 He Da Bomb: There’s less than 10 minutes before the Duncan Moore is blown to kingdom come. That’s not enough time for the bomb squad to hit the scene. Nick has some experience in this area. He orders Andy out of the garage while he tries to disarm the bomb.

#1 There’s No Crying in Police Work: Ted McDonald claims that judge in the bombing trial was paid off. So were members of the city council. There are also some suspects within the police department. Sam asks the commissioner about all this. He’s going to check all of McDonald’s seized hard drives. Marlo suggests Andy be the one to retrieve them. See the explosive results of this move.
