Welcome to the Gladiator Report for the "Mama Said Knock You Out” episode of Scandal. Here you’ll find highlights, quotes and a special SNEAK LEAK of the next all-new episode down at the bottom. WARNING: There are spoilers here. Enjoy!
The Fight House: Cyrus hears Fitz and Jake arguing. He steps into the Oval Office. He grabs a vase to attack Jake, who quickly neutralizes the threat. Cyrus knows he killed James. He later has a heart-to-heart chat with Fitz. If James had gone public, he would have brought down the entire administration. Cyrus figures that Jake was just doing his job. He was doing what they all do. He was serving at the pleasure of the President of the United States. Of course, that can’t stop the emotion Cy was feeling here.
The Fight House II: As Olivia attempts to reason with the Grant children, Fitz is blindsided by Karen’s claim that his wife is “doing it” with the man his daughter calls “Uncle Andrew.” This sends the president storming through the White House halls. See what happens when he finds good old Uncle Andrew.
She Takes a Lickin’ and Keeps on B613-ing: Jake sends Quinn to meet with Huck to find out what he wants with B613. That’s simple. He wants them to let her go. Quinn wants to know why. They’ve had a topsy-turvy relationship lately. Huck has gone from tonguing her face to tonguing her tongue. Quinn returns the favor at this meeting.
Alone Again, Unnaturally: Rowan/Eli/ex-Command wants Olivia to stop digging into B613. That’s not going to happen. Jake thinks Papa Pope has also been digging. This inspires him to pay a visit.
GladiQuotes: Below are some of the top lines from "Mama Said Knock You Out." Let us know which ones were your favorites and, by all means, pop in any that we forgot in the comments section.
Fitz: At the end of the day let’s all just remember that we love each other.
Huck: You don’t take down B613. You run. You hide. Or you die.
Charlie: You want me to kill him? Because I’d do that for you, Robin. I’d kill Huck in a second if you want me to.
Quinn: No. Don’t. But thank you. That’s sweet.
Olivia (to Andrew re: Mellie): The last thing this campaign needs is another sex scandal. Stay away from her.
Andrew: Glass houses, Olivia.
Jake: This is not a game, Mr. President. And you’re not getting your ball back.
Maya: You think you’re family, but you’re nothing but the help. And you don’t even know it.
Karen: She’s doing it with Uncle Andrew, Dad.
Eli/Rowan/ex-Command (to Jake): You are A-Lone.
Jake: Thank you for reminding me that when I decide to kill you, I need to do it all by myself.
Cyrus: It’s not just that family you’re putting back together; it’s the whole damn country.
Eli/Rowan/ex-Command: Families, well they uh, they stick together.
The Day the Marriage Died: Fitz and Mellie have an emotionally-draining conversation about how and when their marriage died. This is all while the clock is ticking toward TV interview time. If only the President knew what we know. Weren’t you just itchin’ for Mellie to just blurt out what Big Jerry Grant did to her during this entire scene?
