When Turk isn’t saving a 12-year-old boy on the operating table, he’s acting like one in the hospital hallways. Now Chief of Surgery, Turk’s prowess in the O.R. is matched only by his passion for eating pork chops, singing in falsetto, and bro-ing it out with J.D. And as a med school professor, Turk is a student favorite because his lively lectures make up for the all those dead bodies in anatomy lab.
On Scrubs, he’ll always be known as J.D.’s brown bear best friend. But in real life, Donald Faison was one of our favorite actors before he ever set foot in Sacred Heart Hospital. Remember how hilarious he was as Dionne’s boyfriend in Clueless?
For his work as Dr. Christopher Turk on the Emmy-nominated hit series Scrubs, Donald Faison has received five NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and was awarded the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series Award at the first annual BET Comedy Awards.
Donald recently starred in Benny Boom’s Next Day Air, opposite Mos Def and Mike Epps. Additional film credits include Something New, Remember the Titans, Waiting to Exhale, King’s Ransom, Uptown Girls, Josie and the Pussycats, Can’t Hardly Wait, Big Fat Liar, Juice and, of course, the cult classic Clueless.
Television credits include two seasons as Tracy on the JJ Abrams drama, Felicity, Clueless, in which he reprised his role as Murray, Party of Five, Sister, Sister and New York Undercover. Donald also hosted the Spike TV series The Playbook, the ultimate guide for guys, designed to show men how to navigate the trickiest situations, scenarios and circumstances, and he has also recently lent his voice to the Cartoon Network’s animated series Titan Maximum and Robot Chicken.
A New York City native, Donald began his acting career as an enthusiastic five-year-old attending the Children’s School of Intuitive and God-Conscious Art. His passion and talent led him to study theatre at the Professional Children’s School, where he developed the talents that led to the gifted actor we see today.
