ENTREPRENEURS: Stephanie and Daniel Rensing

PITCH: The Smart Baker

ASKING FOR: $75k for a 25% stake

BEST PART OF THE PITCH: Stephanie and Daniel have come up with a series of products to make home baking easier. They created a cheat sheet apron with recipes printed upside down on the bottom for easy reading. They've also created a line of parchment paper with lift tabs to pull the product out of the pan easily. They also have a reusable cupcake/treat tower. They've had $34,000 in sales in the past three months and hope to end the year netting $100k.

DO THE SHARKS BITE? Mark likes what they are doing, but feels like he would only hold them back. He's out. Kevin doesn't feel there's enough meat on the bone to invest. He's out. Robert says he would definitely be a customer, but he can't add value to their company. He's out. Daymond offers $75k for a 40% stake. Barbara wants to make a deal similar to the one she made with the creator of Daisy Cakes. She will give $75k for a 40% stake and a 5% royalty until she makes her money back.

THE RESULT: Daniel wants Barbara to go up to $100k, but she rejects that counteroffer. But her original deal still stands. That's good enough for Stephanie and Daniel. The Smart Baker just got a smart investor.
