Episode 7 of Splash kicks off with the Masked Mystery Diver, who comes out at the top of the show and climbs the 10-meter platform. He removes his cape and mask to reveal...it's Tony Hawk! The legendary skateboarder does a dive off the platform, on his skateboard!
At the beginning of training this week, Greg Louganis designed four different dives and allowed the celebrities to choose their dive based solely on the platform height.
Drake Bell chose the 7-meter dive, which was revealed to be an inward one-and-a-half, the dive Drake said terrified him. Drake, who this week in training was dealing with injuries from last week's rehearsals mishap, over-rotates the dive. He gets a 6.00 from judge Steve Foley and a 5.50 from judge David Boudia.
Drake's average score: 5.75
Next up is Nicole Eggert, dressed as Wonder Woman! Nicole chose to dive from the 5-meter, and learned her dive was a front one-and-a-half dive. After seeing Nicole's dive, Steve says, "Wonder Woman has nothing on you!" He gives her a 7.50 and David gives her a 7.00.
Nicole's average score: 7.25
Then it's Brandi Chastain's turn to dive. Brandi chose to go off the 3-meter springboard and must do a back one-and-a-half half-twist. According to David, Brandi did not complete the somersault portion of her dive, so she did not complete her dive. He gives her a 3.50. Steve agrees, and gives her a 3.00 for challenging herself.
Brandi's average score: 3.25
Rory Bushfield is up! Once again, Rory has been unable to practice his dive due to his eardrum. Rory chose Greg's dive for the 10-meter, which turned out to be a triple flip! Rory's dive is the first triple flip on Splash and the judges are wowed. Steve calls Rory's dive incredible and gives him an 8.50, while David gives him a 9.00.
Rory's average score: 8.25
After the audience's scores are added to the judges' scores, Rory is in first place and has earned a spot in the finals. Nicole, Drake, and Brandi must take part in a three-way dive-off to determine which two divers will move on to the finals with Rory.
After seeing each of them dive a second time, David chooses to send Drake to the finals and Steve chooses to send Nicole to the finals. Brandi goes home.
Finally, Greg and Chuy show off the trophy the Season One winner of Splash will get!
