Grant Bowler can recently be seen starring opposite Laurie Metcalf as Dr. Ron Rudd in the final season of HBO's critically acclaimed series "Getting On."
Prior to that, Bowler starred as Nolan, the lead hero on the beloved science-fiction series "Defiance" for NBC/Universal, which aired for three seasons on the SyFy Network.
In 2012, Bowler gave a riveting portrayal as Richard Burton, starring opposite Lindsay Lohan in Lifetime's "Liz & Dick," and before that, starred as Cooter in the award-winning and hugely successful vampire franchise, "True Blood," also on HBO.
Bowler is also best known for his work as recurring character Connor Owens on ABC's "Ugly Betty," and as Captain Gault in JJ Abram's series "LOST."
Bowler's feature credits include "Atlas Shrugged," opposite Tayler Schilling; the action/drama "Swelter," opposite Alfred Molina and Lenny James; "400 Days," opposite Caity Lotz and Tom Cavanagh; and the award winning independent feature "I Do," opposite Alicia Witt.
Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Bowler is a graduate of the esteemed Australian drama school NIDA, alongside other notable graduates, including Mel Gibson, Cate Blanchett and Sam Worthington.
Prior to basing himself in Los Angeles, Bowler carried many successful Australian TV roles, including dramas "Blue Heelers," "Pacific Drive," "All Saints," "Something in the Air," as well as starring in the mini-series "Through My Eyes," about the disappearance of Azaria Chamberlin, Lindy Chamberlin's baby, and the Australian TV movie "The Great Mint Swindle." He's also been seen in the widely viewed New Zealand crime drama "Outrageous Fortune," where he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 Qantas Film and Television Awards. 2012 saw Bowler add an International Emmy win to his list of career accomplishments.
Grant currently resides with his family in Los Angeles.
