Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has jumped seamlessly between film and television, with a commanding on-screen presence that creates iconic and memorable roles.
Adewale is currently shooting the ABC straight-to-series drama Ten Days in the Valley, opposite Kyra Sedgwick. He can next be seen starring in the independent feature Wetlands, opposite Jennifer Ehle and Heather Graham, and in Elizabeth Blue, which he also produced.
Adewale was most recently seen in the WB/DC Comics blockbuster Suicide Squad as Killer Croc. He was also featured in Jay Roach's film Trumbo, with Bryan Cranston, Helen Mirren and John Goodman; and in Peter Landesman's NFL drama Concussion for Sony, opposite Will Smith, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Alec Baldwin, in which he portrayed real-life NFL player Dave Duerson.
In his first breakout role, Adewale received two NAACP nominations for his portrayal of Simon Adebisi in the HBO original series OZ. He then starred in the smash hit series Lost, where he and the cast won a Golden Globe for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series and a SAG that same year.
On the heels of that success, Adewale switched gears for the big-screen giant blockbuster The Mummy Returns, then joined Matt Damon in the iconic Jason Bourne action series, The Bourne Identity. This was followed by Oscar-nominated director Jim Sheridan's Get Rich or Die Tryin', where he starred in the role of Majestic, a brutally twisted drug lord, opposite Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
Continuing to challenge himself, Adewale wrote and directed his first short feature, Farming, which debuted at Robert Redford's prestigious Sundance Labs. Adewale won the Annenberg Award for Best Newcomer Writer and Director. The film is currently in development as a feature film with producer Michael London and Groundswell Productions.
Adewale's additional film credits include the international box-office hit Thor: The Dark World, in which he played the dual villain roles of dark elf Algrim and Kurse; the Roman period epic Pompeii, opposite Kit Harrington and Kiefer Sutherland; the acclaimed feature The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete, opposite Jennifer Hudson; G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra, opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson; Killer Elite, opposite Robert DeNiro, Clive Owen and Jason Statham; the Universal Pictures remake of the classic film The Thing; a critically acclaimed performance in the drama Best Laid Plans; and Annie, opposite Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhané Wallis. Other memorable television credits include the fifth season of HBO's Game of Thrones, NBC's American Odyssey and Cinemax's Hunted. He also voices the title role in the Fox animated series Major Lazor.
