The Catch Recap Episode 5: Alice’s Plan is Revealed

Margot (Sonya Walger) and Ben (Peter Krause) have a surprise visitor that wants to collect the money for their benefactor.  When they get caught in their dine and dash scheme, the collector of the benefactor, Felicity, offers a new way to pay their debt for the month.  Margot and Ben will need to steal a bracelet.  Meanwhile, AVI is hired to follow one of their longtime clients to see if she's having an affair.  Here is The Catch recap of Season 1, Episode 5 "The Laragán Gambit" that aired on Thursday, April 21, 2016.  In "The Laragán Gambit," Alice (Mireille Enos) and Valerie (Rose Rollins) are shocked to discover their longtime political client is being blackmailed by compromising photos. Meanwhile, Margot and Ben’s benefactor grows dangerously impatient, sending them on a high-stakes jewelry heist to recoup their debt. And, Alice’s suspicion of Dao leads her to confide in Valerie.

Valerie Steals Alice's Phone from Sophie and Finds Alice's Call Log
Valerie obtains Alice's phone and sees who she has been texting and calling.  Since the numbers are masked, Valerie can only assume that she's been in contact with Ben.  Alice  admits to staying in touch with Ben because she's helping Agent Dao's investigation, which is only half true.

Valerie Confronts Alice About Her Call History|Alice lies to Valerie in order to get her phone back.|Valerie (Rose Rollins) obtains Alice's phone and sees who she has been texting and calling. Alice is Being Followed by Agent Dao
Following their last meeting when Alice was wearing a wire, Ben agrees to meet her by the Disney Concert Hall and Alice promises to not wear a wire this time.  Ben calls off his meeting with Alice after he notices Agent Dao nearby. He calls Alice a liar because she brought the FBI with her. After Alice asks where Ben is, Ben tells her that he's leaving.


Ben Finds Agent Dao's Bug at Alice's House
After Agent Dao showed up unexpectedly at their lunch date, Ben sweeps Alice's house for a possible bug that Agent Dao may be using to listen in on Alice's conversations.  Ben calls Alice to inform her about the bug Agent Dao planted at her house.  While telling her where to find the bug, Ben remembers to compliment Alice on how great her dress looks on her.
