The cast iron skillet is the ultimate country cookware, but it needs a little love.
If you just cooked in your skillet and food is stuck to the pan but how do you clean it? You can’t put it in the dishwasher and you’re not supposed to use soap.
What you can do is use salt, since it’s a really good abrasive. The salt will soak up any extra oil on the bottom – just swish it around and scrape everything out. Give it a rinse with water. Then brush the skillet down with oil to help restore the season.
