Hot Dawg! 5 Wiener Recipes We Can’t Get Enough  Of!

By Lindsey Antis Jul 16, 2013

It's summer and time for a good old fashioned hot dog.  Instead of your classic sausage on a bun type try one of these gourmet versions.

5. A Polish Boy

This hot dog is serious business.  It comes fully loaded with fries and slaw on top of the kielbasa sausage and all your fave toppings.

A HOT Burger-Dog

This Asian-style, spicy hot dog is nothing like the original, but that’s not a bad thing.  The hand-formed beef dogs are topped with a spicy, red pepper and onion relish that will leave your taste buds tingling for at least an hour.

3. A Classic Chili Dog

Sometimes more is just better and this dish proves it.  Chili, bacon and cheese on top of your favorite extra long hot dog in a potato bun – we dare you to have just one bite.

2. A Brat Burger

If Ming Tsai can make a burger into a hot dog than Michael Symon can make a Bratwurst into a burger.  After blending that tasty brat meat with some ground beef, he added some of his secret shasha sauce, gruyere and a splash of beer to the mix.

1. The Classic Cleveland Brat

Or, if you’re a purist, we’ve got that brat too.  The German sausage cooked in beer and sandwiched in a pretzel roll is impossible to beat.
