What do your kids eat for lunch? One New York City Public School is going green in its cafeteria. The public school in Flushing, Queens, has officially become the first public school in the country to move to an all-vegetarian menu. P.S. 244Q will serve vegetarian breakfast and lunch to over 400 students from kindergarten to third grade. The school started serving vegetarian lunch three times a week, and then increased it to four times a week, and now they are all vegetarian. Principal Robert Groff said, “the founding of our school was based on health and nutrition and teaching kids how to make healthy choices.” A sample lunch might be cheddar quesadillas served with salsa, roasted potatoes and black beans. How you do feel about this decision?
