Here at The Chew we love farmer’s markets from the fresh foods to the relationships you build with neighbors and farmers and the new recipes ideas! It’s a win all around. BYOB: Bring Your Own Bag
Bringing your own canvas bag for the produce is a crowd pleaser. And let’s be honest, do you want to be bringing that great big fresh watermelon home in a flimsy plastic bag? Questions Are Encouraged
At the market you are face to face with the producer of your food, so take advantage and ask questions. Most farmers are happy to assist you while you shop and know more about their produce than anyone else. So talk away and soak up all the knowledge you can. Also, use the opportunity to get to know the people you buy from and make the experience more fun for everyone. Small Bills Rule
Most farmers’ markets are cash only operations and you’ll gain a lot of good karma from farmers if you have small bills and change on hands. They’ve only got a small cash box and plenty to sell, so help them out where you can.
