More to Chew On: Last Bites From Around the Country

  • By The Chew Crew

These days Halloween gear can add up.  Once you buy the kids’ costumes, the decorations and the candy you’ve spent a fortune!  In fact according to the National Retail Federation the average person spends $80 a person on a costume and decorations.  So, the cost for a family of five could be around $400.  That’s why today, The Chew is going to show you how to make all kinds of Halloween gear without leaving your home.

Another way to cut the costs at Halloween is to give out homemade goodies.  However, many think this is a questionable idea.  We think it should be fine to indulge in the neighbor’s homemade treats if you know them well, but if not don’t partake.

Halloween is great holiday for kids, and the trick or treating is usually their favorite part.  When is a good time for kids to stop gathering candy from the neighbors?  Today recently asked that question.  Find out what they had to say.
