You might think that ice cream is just for dessert, and in normal cases you would be right. However, Jeni, from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, found a new way to use one of our favorite treats – as a cure for the flu.
This has been one of the worst flu seasons in recent memory. According to The Chicken Noodle Soup Index, orders for chicken noodle soup have been up 35% this January from last. So, Jeni created an Influenza Sorbet. It contains cayenne pepper, ginger, bourbon, honey, orange and lemon juice, and “it’s modeled on the home remedy my grandmother made when anyone in the family was under the weather… a mug of hot whiskey with honey and lemon juice.”
