Thanksgiving is almost here which mean that Black Friday is right around the corner.  New research suggests that eating a big turkey dinner may keep you from spending impulsively on holiday sales.  Everyone has heard that turkey makes you sleepy because it contains tryptophan, and University of Utah researchers found that tryptophan produces serotonin, and serotonin is shown to inhibit impulsive behavior. Since shopping on Black Friday tends to be a collection of impulse buys, the key to not overspending might be loading up on turkey.
