On today’s Last Bites, the co-hosts discuss frugal holiday entertaining tips after Carla reveals her thrifty holiday party idea. Carla decided to round up her neighbors and each host a course of the holiday meal in their respective apartments. As you may or may not know, Ms. Hall is always in the market for a bargain, looking to save a few dollars here and there. Since multi-course holiday meals are expensive, Carla figured why not go all out on one course, rather than compromising the ingredients for all courses. For this reason, after one course is complete, her frugal friends will join her in apartment-hopping, making pit stops around the building until they have made their way through the following courses: soup, salad, main, and dessert. No need to fret if this idea is too outrageous for you. What we can take away from Carla’s radical party idea, is to let our guests contribute. Kindly ask one friend to supply a fruit platter and another to bring a bottle or two of wine. Not only will this cross a few things off your to-do list, but it will also lower the overall cost. What other frugal entertaining tips can you think of for a budget-friendly holiday party?
