On today’s Last Bites, the co-hosts discuss their favorite barbecue styles. While Cleveland does not have a signature BBQ style, Michael likes to invent his own by using Cleveland mustard as the sauce for his meat. While Carla enjoys Tennessee style BBQ for its tangy flavor and a touch of tomato sauce, she also is a huge fan of Memphis BBQ for its use of the dry rub rather than bathing the meat in a sticky sauce. Curtis, on the other hand, enjoys Kansas City BBQ, which specializes in a sticky BBQ sauce. Similarly, Daphne loves a “finger-licking” sauce, as she says. She used to travel to Delaware to visit her grandparents when she was a kid, and her grandfather used to barbecue steak and drumsticks in a sweet BBQ sauce. Accustomed to meatless BBQs, Daphne held her grandfather’s BBQ goodies in high regards over the years.
