On today’s Last Bites, the co-hosts discuss their favorite farm fresh vegetables. While Daphne and Carla choose corn as their go-to vegetable, Michael has a place in his heart for tomatoes. In fact, he tends to grow more tomatoes than he can eat, and for this reason, he shares his surplus with his neighbors to spread the tomato love. Tomatoes are extremely versatile -- they can act as a supporting player in summer salads, or you can feature them in a main course topped with fresh mozzarella, a dollop of pesto, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Zucchini comes in a close second place for Michael since he remembers his father growing incredibly large squash when he was growing up.
What is your favorite farm fresh vegetable? Which vegetables are you most looking foward to cooking with this summer?
