With the release of The Chew’s new book “What’s for Dinner?”, The Chew Crew discusses their favorite cookbooks on today’s Last Bites. The co-hosts mention that there are certain books that they always keep close by and writers that make them want to run to the kitchen.
While Mario turns to cookbooks for inspiration, Carla loves when writers are able to explain why particular recipes work. She thinks of cooking like a puzzle and is drawn to technical, precise writing that taps into the science of a recipe. Daphne is particularly drawn to the photography in a cookbook and wants to see vivid, inviting images of food. Also, she loves reading cookbooks from the Middle East, in which the cuisine is so simple and healthy.
