There's nothing out of date about this drink!
- 1 sugar cube (or 1 teaspoons sugar)
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 dashes bitters
- 2 1/2 ounces bourbon
- 1 strip orange peel
- 1 maraschino cherry
- In the bottom of a chilled old-fashioned glass, add the sugar cube and teaspoon of water. Using a wooden muddler, pulverize the sugar cube breaking up the crystals to create a syrup. Add 2 dashes bitters. Fill the glass with ice, add the bourbon, and stir well.
- To garnish, twist the orange peel over the glass and top with a cherry.
