Get your party started with this great dip!
Clinton Kelly's Sour Cream and Onion Dip
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 large Yellow Onion (cut into even 1/4-inch thick rings)
- 1 clove Garlic (minced)
- 1 1/2 cup Sour Cream
- 3/4 cup Mayonnaise
- Kosher Salt
- Heat the olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the onion, and season with a large pinch of salt, then toss to coat in oil.
- Arrange the onion into an even layer in the pan, and cook stirring occasionally, but retaining an even layer. Cook until the onions caramelize, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the garlic.
- Combine remaining ingredients in a food processor. Add the onions, garlic, and season with black pepper. Pulse until thoroughly combined, then transfer to the refrigerator. Serve chilled.
