Mario Batali's Sweet Plantains
- 2 cups ripe Plantains (peeled)
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 tablespoons Cinnamon
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cinnamon and sugar until combined.
- In a large non-stick pan, melt butter over medium heat. Season plantains well with salt. Toss plantains in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Add plantains to the melted butter, working in batches, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until deep golden brown on the first side. Continue to cook on the second side until golden and caramelized. Flip to coat in the cinnamon sugar sticky glaze, sprinkling extra cinnamon and sugar if desired. Pour onto a serving plate, pouring excess glaze over top.
