  • step-by-step directions
Ingredients
Apple Spice Fizz
  • 1 ounce boiled apple cider (method below)
  • 2 ounces Spiced Rum
  • 3 dashes bitters
  • seltzer water (to top)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (to garnish)
  • ice (to serve)
Directions
  • In a cocktail shaker, add boiled apple cider, rum, bitters and ice. Shake until combined. Strain into a Collins glass with ice and top with some seltzer water. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
  • For Boiled Cider: Pour 1 gallon of cider into a large heavy bottomed non-reactive pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. The cider should reduce to 2 1/2 cups. Remove from heat and let cool. Store in a clean, airtight glass jar in the refrigerator.
  • Tip: Boiled cider can be savory or sweet. Use in cocktails, braises, sauces, or even baked goods!
