Pulled Pork Sliders

Pulled Pork Sliders
  • 3- 3 1/2 pound Pork Shoulder Roast
  • 10 Potato Slider Buns
Spice Rub
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Dark Brown Sugar
For the Braise
  • 1 large Yellow Onion; thinly sliced
  • 12 ounces Root Beer
BBQ Sauce
  • 2 cups Ketchup
  • 1/2 cup Spicy Mustard
  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Hot Sauce
  • Combine the spices and rub the pork all over with the mixture.
  • Arrange the Onion slices on the bottom of a slow cooker, and nest the Pork on top of the Onions. Add the Root Beer, and simmer for 6-8 hours, until the pork is fork tender.
  • Remove the Pork from the slow cooker, and shred with two forks.
  • Combine the ingredients for the BBQ Sauce and add to the slow cooker. Transfer the shredded Pork back into the slow cooker and cook long enough to heat everything through. Serve on Potato Buns.
