How to Cut and Seed a Pomegranate
How to cut and seed a pomegranate without making a mess! Begin by cutting open the pomegranate into quarters and placing in a large bowl of water. Let it soak for 5 minutes. Now working with the fruit under the water, start breaking it apart using your hands. Use your fingers to dig out the seeds (also called arils), separating them from the white membrane. By working under water, you eliminate the mess and the risk of any pomegranate juice stains! Once you've removed all the seeds, the white membrane will float to the top. Simply skim it away and strain the remaining seeds. Find plenty of food ideas and recipes using pomegranate seeds at TheChew.com!
