CNN's Van Jones Explains 'Whitelash' Comments from Election Night
When CNN's Van Jones was on The View on 12/1/16, he clarifies his 'Whitelash' comments from election night. But what is whitelash? It can be interpreted as the fact that for the 2016 election, white voters rebelled against the left and flocked to vote for Donald Trump. This act of rebellion has been dubbed "whitelash." Van Jones commented saying, "Let me tell you what I wasn't saying. I was not saying that all 50 to 60 million people who voted for Donald Trump are racially hateful people who want to be in the alt-right neo Nazi camp. I wasn't saying that. And it would actually be unfair to the Trump voters to say that they're all racist. But to say that the alt-right and the neo Nazis who were celebrating weren't a part, that would be unfair to the rest of America." Bottom line: Both political parties have problems and he is encouraging Americans to talk about it. Watch The View WEEKDAYS at 11e|10c|p.
