Kate persists in planning her dream wedding despite the added chaos from the arrival of her mother Cricket (guest star Megan Mullally) and Pete’s parents. However, things come to a screeching halt when the family gets some bad news.
Pete: Oh great, Meg's here and she is showing dad her new tattoo, which is so close to her breast.
Meg: It's infected, but you get the gist.
Francis: ...I love it.
Kate: We're doing it. Our whole family's here. We got it going on. Bring it in.
Pete: Bring it.
Cricket: See? You made everyone uncomfortable.
Kate: I did? No, no mom, you showed up in handcuffs and you brought weapons and lingerie. Now Bert, he wants tear-away pants for Christmas.
Cricket: You know, this is the first I've heard of this. Why didn't you just say something?
Kate: Mom, this is supposed to be my dream wedding weekend! I didn't want to get angry!
Cricket: Oh snap! I think someone's got a bridezilla on their hands, okay. I'll be on my air mattress. Hope I don't embarass anyone while I'm farting and breathing like a person.
Kate: Why did I think it was a good idea for us to invite our parents?
Pete: Because it's a wedding tradition: you invite your parents and then you immediately regret it.
Kate: You know what I would do? I would lock up man Francis and lady Frances in a room, blurt out their secrets and then just run.
Pete: You would do that for me?
Kate: Sure, if you'll get my mom to stop acting like Gary Busey in a tube top.
Pete: That's who she reminds me of. Thank you.
