Betty learns the true meaning of the word “crush” when she goes out on a limb to throw an unofficial Mode after-party for her new neighbor Jesse. Making matters worse, she’s got an unexpected new roommate in the form of Amanda!
Betty wakes up extra early so she can “coincidentally” run into Jesse outside her apartment building. Slick! He gives her a CD of some new songs he’s been working on. When Betty gets to the Mode office before everyone else, though, she runs into Amanda—who’s walking around buck naked! We then find out she’s been evicted from her apartment, and has been living in the office building.
Sly ol’ Wilehlmina senses that Daniel and Connor may be chummier than they initially led her to believe. When Wili confronts Daniel about it, he says, "I think what's going on, Wilhelmina, is you've been played." Ouch!
At her request, Marc digs up a file of dirt on Connor for Wili, and arranges for the new CFO to meet with her later that evening. But once they’re together in her office, Wilhelmina is overcome with growing attraction to Connor, and runs out. We never said she was one for subtlety!
Amanda shows up on Betty's doorstep needing a place to stay. This ruins Betty’s planned get-together with Jesse. At the office the next day, after overhearing Betty and Christina talking about Jesse, Amanda suggests that Betty invite him to the Mode party. Of course, when Betty goes to ask him that evening, he mistakenly thinks she's offering for his band Dark Sexual Journey to play at the shindig.
Cliff shows up at Mode and asks Marc to move in with him. Sweet, right? Unfortunately, Marc closes off and and retreats into Wilhelmina's office.
