Are we sure this show hasn’t been renamed Ugly Kimmie? Because at every turn, Betty’s old high school nemesis is out to sabotage her and get our favorite fashion-challenged female kicked out of Mode.
"In just two weeks I've gotten higher than you have in two years."Kimmie (Lindsay Lohan) is bent on flaunting her new associate editor title—and business cards—in front of Betty. “In just two weeks I’ve gotten higher than you have in two years,” Kimmie chides. “I just wonder if you’re gonna be an assistant for the rest of your life?”
But Betty’s not one to sit around and let all her experience at Mode go down the drain! She gets to talking with her handsome singer-songwriter neighbor Jesse, who tells Betty that she's a dreamer, and if she wants something, she has to just go for it. He then serenades her with an impromptu song. Why isn’t there a Jesse living next door to us?
Feeling inspired, Betty pitches to Daniel the idea of Sizzling Hot Fruit to be included the upcoming Sizzling Hot issue. She takes it even further when, through a stroke of luck, she discovers that tico berries are the favorite fruit of model Adriana Lima, a Brazilian beauty who credits eating the berry on her grandfather’s farm at a young age with making her beautiful.
A thrilled Adriana agrees to a cover story and fashion shoot with Mode. Even better, Wilhelmina and Daniel appoint Betty as the project manager for the whole thing, and cut Kimmie’s story on Sizzling Hot Clubs. Betty’s getting berry, er, very good at turning the table on her enemy!
