Dancing with the Stars sets its sights on the sports world with a special athletes edition. Ten athletes from all corners of the sports world will be teamed up with professional dancers and compete on the ballroom floor for a chance to win the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

The premiere episode kicks off with a spectacular opening number featuring the entire cast. Each couple will then perform a Cha Cha, Foxtrot or Contemporary routine, vying for America's vote for the first time.

Each couple dances to a song of the celebrities' choosing that encompasses a memorable time or experience in their life. These heartfelt performances promise to be some of the most intense and emotional of the season. The show also features singer Aloe Blacc performing his hit song "Wake Me Up," accompanied by a select group of pro dancers. At the end of the night, one couple faces elimination.
