Actor Biography

For the past seven seasons, Jessica Capshaw has played pediatric surgeon Arizona Robbins on the hit ABC drama Grey's Anatomy. Prior to joining the show, her television credits included The Practice, The L Word and Bones. Capshaw also starred in the TNT miniseries Into the West, with Keri Russell and Josh Brolin. Her NY stage credits include Neil Labute's Fat Pig at the Lucille Lortel Theater and a revival of Eric Bogosian's Suburbia at the Second Stage Theater.

Capshaw earned her Bachelor of Arts in English literature at Brown University, where she also starred in many of the University's stage productions.

Capshaw currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Christopher Gavigan, and their children, Luke, Eve, Poppy and Josephine.

Arizona married Dr. Callie Torres in a beautiful wedding, which was officiated by Dr. Miranda Bailey. Prior to her relationship with Callie, Arizona dated a few hospital employees. After spending a lot of time with Dr. Lauren Boswell on a special case, Arizona slept with her, which eventually led to the demise of her relationship with Callie.

Arizona and her ex Callie share their beautiful daughter, Sofia.

Arizona lost a leg because of injuries sustained in a plane crash.
