Elena "Yo-Yo" RodriguezPlayed by Natalia Cordova-Buckley
Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez is a member of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team who possesses the Inhuman ability to "slingshot" herself back and forth with super speed. After signing the Sokovia Accords, Yo-Yo relocated from Colombia to the United States to become an Active Inhuman Asset. As fast as she is, though, Yo-Yo can't speed up the slow moving bureaucracy that has taken over S.H.I.E.L.D.
Natalia Cordova-Buckley was born in Mexico City and raised in Cancun. As a young girl, she developed an immense talent for dance and was accepted into the dance company "Centro de Arte Silo XXI." While there, Natalia trained under renowned ballet teacher Fernando Alonso who is considered the father of Cuban Classical Ballet. At the age of 17, she was accepted to the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts' drama department, a selective high school program for seniors in fine arts. After graduating from NCSA's high school program she attended the theatre conservatory at Cal-Arts in California.
Natalia scored her first major leading role in the feature film Ventanas al Mar opposite Spain's veteran actors Charo López and Fernando Guillén. Her resume as an actress includes film and television credits in both Mexican and American productions and was recently seen in Disney's McFarland U.S.A.
Natalia was offered the role of inhuman/superhero Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez in Season 3 of Marvel's Agents of Shield and quickly became a fan favorite. She was brought back for Season 4.
