Oncers, get ready! On Sunday’s must-see two-hour Once Upon a Time season 5 finale, Regina (Lana Parrilla) copes with the loss of Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), while the heroes discover Gold (Robert Carlyle) has stolen Hades’ Olympian Crystal and tethered Storybrooke’s magic to it and try to stop him. Here are 5 things to know before the season 5 finale!
1. Rumplestiltskin is More Powerful Than Ever
In season 5, episode 17, “Her Handsome Hero,” Belle (Emilie de Ravin) saves Gold from Gaston. But now, with his beloved Belle in a sleeping curse, Gold has even more of a reason to wreak havoc in Storybrooke – especially now that he has Hades’ Olympian Crystal in his possession.
2. Regina and Zelena's Past
In season 5, episode 19, "Sisters," Cora's unfinished business in the Underworld was her daughters, Regina and Zelena (Rebecca Mader). Cora's daughters were given their memories back and learned that they used to be close and loved each other before she tore them apart.
3. The Underworld is Over
Although their mission was to save Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), the heroes ended up doing more than that: they helped people in the Underworld complete their unfinished business and move on. And while Hook didn’t leave with her as planned, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and the rest of the heroes escape the Underworld and return to Storybrooke in season 5, episode 20, “Firebird.”
4. Hook is Back!
It looked like the end for Emma and Hook when he refused to return to Storybrooke with her, staying in the Underworld. But in season 5, episode 21, "Last Rites," after completing his unfinished business, Hook moved on… right back to Emma. It turns out, rescuing Hook from the Underworld wasn’t in vain after all!
5. Regina is Without a Happy Ending
Since meeting Robin Hood, it seemed like Regina finally got her happy ending. Sure, there were hiccups along the way (Zelena’s pregnancy, for one), but Robin and Regina overcame it all. That is, until Robin is killed by Hades in season 5, episode 21, "Last Rites." Will Regina continue to embrace the light side, or will she go back to being dark?
