Welcome to the official Quantico Season 1, Episode 4 recap for "Kill" (original airdate October 18, 2015). Previously on Quantico: Alex (Priyanka Chopra) finally receives information about her father and his FBI past, but in the future it’s her mother, Sita, who plays a key role when Liam convinces her to participate in a press conference on national television begging Alex to turn herself in. Also at “Quantico,” the NATS learn the art of profiling and focus on their classmates’ strengths and weaknesses, ultimately challenging their confidence and comradery.
Liam Has a Leak in His Unit
Both units hunting down Alex clearly have issues. In Liam's unit, Ryan is leaking information to Alex and Simon so they can stay one-step ahead of the agency and evade capture. The other unit is relying on undercover agent Simon Asher, a recruit who left training in disgrace, to bring in public enemy number one. The question now is has Alex turned Simon? If so, there's no way he's going to bring her in.
Shelby Confronts Alex about What She's Running From
Something is clearly amiss when Alex goes lone-gunman in training. Shelby wants to know what's up and asks Alex, you know, as a friend. Alex is on the defense and goes on the offensive to deflect. Shelby may want Alex to share, but is unwilling to do the same thing herself. Alex asks who is Shelby on the phone with late at night or who is the person she emails first thing every morning when she thinks no one is looking. They might act like friends but they don't know each other at all; after all it's only been a month since they first met.
Shelby's Company Made the Bomb Parts
Simon and Alex make a visit to acquaintance of Simon's who's knowledgeable about bombs. Oren informs them that the wire itself is insignificant, but the plastic is very interesting. It's military grade and only one company makes it, Shelby's company. Is this just a coincidence or something more?
Elias to Simon: Are you a Patriot or a Traitor?
Elias has made some inquiries and found some interesting things about Simon. First of all, the organization that Simon claims to have worked for in Gaza has never heard of him. That on top of the fake glasses and the coffee he always makes but never drinks is very suspicious. The only thing that's real about Simon is they way he looks at Nimah. Elias has to wonder, is Simon a patriot because the most dangerous enemy America faces is the enemy within.
Miranda Fills Alex in on Her Father’s Darker Side
Alex has been beating herself up because she thinks her killed her hero father. What she received in the file was only half the story. Yes he was an FBI agent who is responsible for saving countless lives, but he also had a bad reputation too. He was a drunk with a temper, abused his authority in the field, received several letters of censure, threatened Alex’s mother on multiple occasions, and the bureau ignored it. Ryan put it best, being a good agent doesn't mean you're a good man.
