At 9:30|8:30c, Will throws a big party recreating Ozzfest—which Angie missed in her 20s—to celebrate Angie's 30th birthday. When Angie assumes Owen planned it for her, awkward encounters ensue. Meanwhile, Douglas takes Graham shopping to help him find the perfect gift for his mom, Angie, for her birthday, but a distracted Douglas results in Graham buying a not-so-on-point gift.
Kicking off the night at 8|7c is The Goldbergs, where The Dropouts are thrilled when they book a gig at a Flyers charity carnival and Adam uses the opportunity to make his very first rockumentary. Since Barry doesn't want to miss out on the fun, he forces his way onto the band, despite his sister's objections. Meanwhile, Beverly's concerns about Murray's health push him to the limit.

Then, go from the Goldbergs' 1980s to the 1990s with Schooled at 8:30|7:30c. As the new cheer coach, Lainey wants to bring the William Penn cheer team into the competitive competitions of the 90s, but she runs into push-back from Mellor and the football team. Meanwhile, CB and Glascott are at odds on how to help students resolve their problems, so they create a special kind of club.

At 9|8c, ABC's smash hit comedy Modern Family brings the laughs as Claire, in an effort to be less negative, is rebranding herself as the girl who says "yes" and inadvertently approves of Luke's new relationship with someone from his work. Meanwhile, Phil tries to surprise Alex at school right before she receives an award she didn't tell him about.
