Sour Cream and Onion Dip

There's nothing better than a sour cream and onion dip. Give this one a try at your next party.

Sour Cream and Onion Dip
  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 large Yellow Onion (cut into even 1/4-inch thick rings)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1 1/2 cup Sour Cream
  • 3/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Heat the olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the onion, and season with a large pinch of sat.  Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions caramelize, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the garlic.
  • Add the sour cream, mayonnaise, and caramelized onions to a food processor and season with salt and pepper. Pulse until thoroughly combined, then transfer to the refrigerator. Serve chilled.
