Cherry Pink Lemonade
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pint fresh sweet cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (from about 4 large lemons)
  • vodka (to taste)
  • Combine the sugar with 1/4 cup water in small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Set aside.
  • Process the cherries in a food processor until you have a smooth paste.
  • Strain the cherry puree through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, pressing down on the solids to extract as much cherry juice as possible. Discard the solids.
  • Combine the sugar syrup, cherry juice, and lemon juice in a large pitcher. Add 4 1/2 cups of water and desired amount of vodka, and stir until well mixed. Chill until ready to serve.
  • Tip: Stir your favorite alcohol into this drink for a festive summer party beverage!
