Ingredients
Classic, Dry, Extra Dry or Extra Extra Dry Martini
  • 2 ounces gin or vodka
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • ice (to serve)
  • green olives (to garnish)
  • lemon twist (to garnish)
Directions
  • For the Classic Martini: In a cocktail shaker packed with ice, add gin and dry vermouth. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with olives or lemon twist. Serve.
  • For the Dry Martini: In a cocktail shaker packed with ice, add vermouth. Strain and discard vermouth into a glass and discard or save for another purpose. Pour gin over the vermouth seasoned-ice, cover and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with olives or lemon twist. Serve.
  • For the Extra Dry Martini: In a chilled martini glass, add vermouth. Swirl the vermouth around to coat the inside of the glass and discard the vermouth. In a cocktail shaker packed with ice, add gin, shake vigorously and pour into prepared glass. Garnish with olives or lemon twist. Serve.
  • For the Extra Extra Dry Martini: In a cocktail shaker packed with ice, add gin, cover and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with olives or lemon twist.
  • Tip: For a dirty martini just add olive juice to taste to any of the martini variations!
