Italian Style Corndog
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Egg (lightly beaten)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Kosher Salt
  • 4 Spicy or Sweet Italian Sausages
  • Vegetable Oil (to fry)
  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Place sausages of baking sheet and bake in over for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat oil to 365F.
  • Insert a popsicle stick into each of the sausages.
  • In a shallow baking dish, mix together the batter ingredients until a smooth batter is formed. Dip the sausages into the batter and cover. Drop into the hot oil, and fry until batter is golden brown and crisp. Drain on a paper towel lined plate and sprinkle with salt. Let cool slightly before serving.
