Slow Cooker Hot Toddy
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 English breakfast tea bags
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise (whole)
  • 3 rings lemon (studded with 2 cloves each)
  • 3 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 slices fresh ginger (peeled, 2-inch pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 8 ounces bourbon
  • In a small pot, add the water and bring to a boil. Add the tea bags and allow to steep for 5 minutes.
  • In the bowl of a slow cooker, add the apple cider, cinnamon stick, star anise, lemon peel, lemon juice, ginger, honey and bourbon.  Turn the slow cooker on high heat until hot. When hot, turn to the warming setting. Add the tea and mix to combine. Ladle into mugs.
  • Helpful Tip: eliminate the bourbon for a nonalcoholic, warm fall drink!
