Actor Biography

Actor, comedian and producer Wendi McLendon-Covey is a master of comedy. As fan-favorite matriarch, Beverly Goldberg, on The Goldbergs, New York Magazine's Vulture called her "The Greatest TV Mom of 2015" for her performance in the third season. For this role, she has been nominated for two Critics Choice awards.

McLendon-Covey wrapped production on Adam Shankman's romantic comedy What Men Want, starring alongside Taraji P. Henson and Max Greenfield. This October, Wendi can be seen in the family comedy Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween, opposite Ken Jeong and directed by Ari Sandel. She also recently completed production on John Butler's Papi Chulo, opposite Matt Bomer. In 2015, Wendi was tapped to host Ellen DeGeneres's Repeat After Me, a reality comedy show.

Many know her from her starring role in Bridesmaids, the 2011 groundbreaking female comedy. The ensemble cast garnered the film a SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and a Golden Globe® nomination for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. The film won an AFI award in 2012 for Movie of the Year. There has not been a comedy film since with this incredible amount of critical acclaim.

Additional film credits include Peter Landesman's Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House, Larry Charles's Army of One, Scott Speer's Status Update, Michael Showalter's Hello My Name is Doris, Steve Harvey's Think Like A Man Too, opposite Kevin Hart and Regina Hall; and before that she starred in Tyler Perry's Single Mom's Club, with Terry Crews and Amy Smart. She also starred in Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production Blended, opposite Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

True comedy fans will recognize McLendon-Covey from her five-year arc on Reno 911!, a cult classic mockumentary about law enforcement, as well as roles on Lovespring International, Modern Family and Rules of Engagement.

McLendon-Covey got her start at the world famous Groundlings Theater in Los Angeles, where she excelled at both improv and sketch comedy.

She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband.
